Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I slipped on a wet concrete floor due to the rain. I fell flat on my back and then hit the parietal bone part of my head. I now have a bump there. I went to the emergency room (ER) and they did a computed tomography (CT) scan. It showed no fractures. She checked my knee reflexes. They were good. But I still have pain in the low part of my neck and now my head feels a little numb. My upper and mid-back hurt. Nothing below my mid-back hurts. I feel very stiff. But I am very worried. What is this? What should I do?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com. I do not think there is anything to worry about if the CT (computed tomography) brain is normal. This might just be a simple musculoskeletal pain due to local trauma. I suggest you try tablet Emanzen D (Serratiopeptidase) SOS for pain over the head. Take it with an antacid. This will go off in a few days.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I still have pain in the low part of my neck. My upper and mid-back hurts too. I have a headache at the back and sides of my head. I feel very stiff, especially around my neck. I woke up the next morning with my teeth feeling bruised even though they did not get hit. My jaw was feeling bruised or numb when I opened my mouth to yawn. Later on, my jaw improved but my teeth still feel bruised. My throat also feels sore and painful. I followed up with my primary doctor today and he did hand grips and checked reflexes, good results but it was painful to do. I asked him if I could have an magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) done but he said no since my reflexes and hand grips pulling and pushing were good. He ordered physical therapy for me. He said if things get worse then I can get an MRI. Should I still be worried that I could have paralysis later on? Or does paralysis usually show up right away? My neck is very sore and tight.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com. These symptoms are not indicating paralysis or any such disease. You can get a cervical spine computed tomography (CT) done to look for any local problems within the spinal column if that is more feasible or has less waiting time than MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). I think you are stressed and that is manifesting in this way. Try some Yoga and meditation along with few painkillers and you will be absolutely alright.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
