My penis gets numb after erection, which is affecting my sex life. Please help.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 20-year-old man. I have a problem with having sex with my girlfriend. I can keep an erection, but after 20 minutes, my penis goes numb. I think my issue is that I use to masturbate or prone to masturbate too much in the past. And now I stop to masturbate as we speak. I am so confused and upset about how do I treat my issue.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thanks for consulting with us.Change in the sensation of the penis or numbness after 20 minutes of intercourse. Sometimes it happens due to loss of a skin layer because of continuous aggressive masturbation or using some type of lubricants during sex, which leads to numbness. If you use a lubricant or gel or any treatment product, either stop it or change it. Less of masturbation, then all will be good. If you have any more queries, please do not hesitate to ask.
Kind regards.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for your reply.
So, in other words, keep abstaining, and it should eventually go back to normal.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Yes, of course, do not worry at all. There should be no issues; as long as your sensory and motor systems are fine, there are no issues. I think it is not a neuronal issue. It is a sort of skin issue which will be fine soon as the skin can regenerate, but nerve cannot regenerate.
Kind regards.
