Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have sexual intercourse three times a day. I have been using flavored lubricants since a week. I have itching in the penis, also have redness and dryness on the foreskin. There are no other symptoms besides dryness and redness on the foreskin. Can having sex too frequently with flavored lubricants irritate the penis and cause it to have dryness on the foreskin?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understand your concern. Flavored lubricants contain ingredients that may cause an allergic reaction. Using flavored lubricants for sexual intercourse may irritate the genitals. Unusual irritation, redness, and itching after sexual intercourse, as you have mentioned, can be a sign of an allergic reaction caused by the flavored lubricant.

I suggest applying a local mild corticosteroid cream like Hydrocortisone on your affected area and suggest taking antihistamines orally for dryness and redness on the foreskin to subside. Please do take care.

Hope this was helpful. Kindly revert for more queries.

Regards.
