Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 19-year-old with oily skin. I have had acne-related problems on my forehead and cheeks for the last two to three months.
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
I am deeply concerned about your worries. Most likely, you have been suffering from adolescent acne vulgaris. Forehead and cheek involvement in acne is classic puberty-related acne due to an increase in androgen hormones, causing excess oil production and clogged pores.
This is very common at your age and not dangerous. Hormones increase oil. Oil mixes with dead skin. Pores get blocked. Bacteria grow and thus cause pimples. I suggest the following steps to address your symptoms and improve your skin health.
Improvement takes six to eight weeks. See a doctor if painful, large cystic acne leaves scars, or if there is no improvement after two months. Most probable diagnosis puberty related oily skin acne. This is normal and manageable with proper skin care.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
