Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had oral sex. The penis did not go inside the vagina, but only rubbed outside until ejaculation. There was no penetration. This happened three years ago. After this incident, I have been experiencing a lot of body heat. I do not have a fever, but my body feels internally heated all the time. Could this be human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)? I am very worried and anxious about this.
Kindly advise.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concerns.
Based on the exposure described, this is not suggestive of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Oral sex and external rubbing without penetration carry either extremely low or no practical HIV risk, especially since this happened three years ago and there are no symptoms typical of untreated HIV progression.
A sensation of body heat without fever for years is not a typical HIV symptom and is more commonly related to anxiety, stress, increased body awareness, acidity, hormonal issues, nerve-related conditions, or other non-HIV causes.
Many people who remain worried after sexual exposure may develop persistent anxiety-related physical sensations, especially when they continue focusing on bodily changes.
Based on this history, there is no scientific reason to think this exposure caused HIV. If testing has never been done and complete reassurance is needed, a single HIV test now would be conclusive after three years and would be expected to be negative. The described exposure is not considered a meaningful HIV risk event.
I hope this is clear, and if you have any questions at any time, please feel free to ask.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am experiencing a lot of anxiety. My jaw hurts, and I often feel heat sensations in my body. Sometimes, my body feels like it is shaking internally, but I do not have a fever or any other symptoms. My legs burn intensely, and I also feel burning in my lower back and stomach. I also have sleep disturbances. My sex life is affected, and I do not get erections unless I take medication.
Kindly advise.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
The symptoms described, including internal shaking sensations, burning in the legs, back, and stomach, jaw tightness, sleep disturbance, anxiety, and erection difficulty, are more consistent with chronic anxiety or stress-related nervous system overactivation rather than human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.
Based on the exposure described three years ago, HIV is not a realistic explanation for these symptoms. Anxiety can significantly affect the body and may cause muscle tension, heat sensations, burning feelings, poor sleep, fatigue, and sexual dysfunction, especially when there is ongoing health-related worry.
Jaw pain is also commonly associated with stress-related clenching or grinding. The fact that erections improve with medication may also suggest a functional or anxiety-related component rather than a severe physical disease. Erectile dysfunction (ED) often improves when anxiety and sleep quality are better managed.
The focus now should be on improving sleep, reducing health anxiety, regular exercise or walking, relaxation techniques, avoiding constant body checking, and discussing anxiety management with a doctor if symptoms are severe. If human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) testing has been done after the exposure, sharing those results may help guide further reassurance.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
