Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My son is 6 years old, and his weight is more than that of his classmates. One thing is he is tall also. But he looks more mature than his age. Is that fine or to be concerned? What should a child's diet be to maintain his regular weight? Any blood test to be done. He does not have junk food often, but ate too many biscuits. But nowadays, he does not eat many biscuits. Please give me a diet plan for my child.
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I recommend following the WHO (World Health Organisation) growth chart and marking the reading. This will help us to track the growth and will also alert us to abnormal findings. I am happy that he is not having biscuit. Child need adequate protein intake. Eggs, dry fruits, and soya are good sources. Add a variety of fruits and vegetables to fill up micronutrients and fiber requirements. Adequate hydration is essential.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
