Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been having a few palpitations a minute for a week. I am on tablet Atenolol 75 mg, tablet Lisinopril 40 mg , tablet Amlodipine 10 mg, and capsule Prilosec 20 mg and a multi vitamin. I also have been using the super greens powder for two months and started a herbal supplement recently. I believe that the super greens and herbal powder are causing the palpitations. My blood pressure is within range, sometimes slightly high. Also, I got an EKG, as my cardiologist suggested, which was normal. Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for the query. I understand your concern and would be happy to help. ECG (electrocardiogram) taken during the asymptomatic period will be normal. It is better to have ECG done at the time when you have palpitations. Alternatively, have holter monitoring done. It will record ECG continuously for 24 hours or more and record the heart's abnormal rhythm when you have symptoms. You can continue your medicines. Regarding the green powder, I can guide you if you tell me its constituents. I suggest you avoid stress as stress precipitates palpitations. Also, reduce caffeine intake. I hope this helps. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your help. The names of the products are nutra champs and natures craft liver support. They were good for a week, after which the palpitations started.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

These ingredients are not causing fast heart rate. I suggest you get an ECG done for palpitations when you have the symptoms. I hope this helps. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

So, is there no need to go to an emergency room? My heart rate is in the 60s or 70s. I feel like there is an extra or skipped beat that lasts from a few minutes to half an hour or longer.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

There is no need to go to ER. Your heart rate is normal. Also, extra beats are normal in healthy people. I hope this helps. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
