Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am having heart palpation on and off all morning on the right-hand side of my chest, and my lower left arm and hand are sore. I am 33 years old female. I am in good health overall, but I was told I have a heart murmur about a year and a half ago and I am on Sprintec birth control. Should I be worried about this?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It does not look like a matter of worry. However, since you told about a murmur, you should get one echo done to look for the cause for it. Have you got hemoglobin checked ever? For palpitations, low hemoglobin can cause it. It can also occur with a valve problem as you told about the murmur. Also, extra beats which are usually benign can cause this. So it does not appear to be an emergency. But, you should get yourself evaluated with an ECG (electrocardiogram), echocardiogram, and hemoglobin. Hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts or more information to share.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
