Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I keep getting really bad panic attacks. I take two tablets of Lexapro in the morning and a tablet of Valdoxan at night, but I need help controlling my panic attacks. I have also had panic attacks and have taken tablets Diazepam, Clonazepam, Alprazolam, Lexapro, Duloxetine, and Effexor in the past. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. You can discuss with the treating psychiatrist regarding changing the dosage of medicines or substituting the tablet Valdoxan (Agomelatine) with Mirtazapine. You can also discuss regarding tablet Lorazepam. You can also go for concurrent CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) sessions. Practice relaxation techniques like diaphragmatic breathing. During a panic attack, voluntarily restructure your breathing by breathing slowly from your diaphragm for around five minutes. Maintain a log book, daily note down your thoughts, and retrospect them weekly.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask if you have any further queries.

Thank you and take care.
