What could brown discharge and irregular bleeding, despite no sexual intercourse?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 19-year-old female diagnosed with Polycystic ovary disease (PCOD) on my right ovary and adenomyosis. I currently do not take any medication for these conditions. I also have an irregular menstrual cycle.

Recently, I have been experiencing brown discharge followed by the presence of blood. It started with small amounts of brown discharge, but the amount increased significantly, even resulting in some urine leakage upon waking up.

It is important to note that I have not engaged in sexual intercourse. Our sexual activity is limited to fingering and dry humping, with the last instance occurring a few weeks ago.

I am unsure if this is the start of another menstrual period or if there might be another underlying cause for these symptoms. I would appreciate any insight you can provide.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

Given that there was no deep deposition of semen in the vagina, the chances of pregnancy are extremely low. Irregular periods can be attributed to various factors, including hormone imbalances caused by

polycystic ovarian disease(PCOD), stress, vitamin, and mineral deficiencies, as well as a lack of exercise.

To naturally regulate your menstrual cycle, here are some recommendations:

  1. Wake up early and engage in regular morning walks until you break a sweat.

  2. Practice yoga and pranayama regularly.

  3. Incorporate flax seeds into your diet by consuming them twice a day.

  4. Consider taking Evacare(Ashoka Tree (Ashoka), Asparagus (Shatavari), Lodh Tree (Lodhra), and Malabar Nut (Vasaka) capsules, two times a day, for a period of three to six months. This supplement can help regulate your menstrual cycle effectively.

By following these suggestions, you can expect your next period to occur around mid-June.

I hope these recommendations help you. Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or doubts.

I hope this answer helped you,

Thank you.
