Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had sex with protection and even took an I-pill within 24 hours. But the next day I had bleeding. I do not know if it is the period or the I-pill side effect. Along with that, I have a headache also. I am dealing with PCOS/PMOS at the same time. What are the chances of getting pregnant despite all this? I feel a bit dizzy as well.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
The chance of pregnancy is almost zero. There is no need to worry. Dizziness might be due to stress.
I hope this has helped.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for your reply.
And what about the bleeding? I am still not sure if it is a period or the I-pill side effect since I have been having irregular periods. And, should I continue with my cyst medicines now? Please answer.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
What medicines are you taking for the cyst? If the bleeding is same as your period, you can consider it to be period. If you are taking combined oral contraceptive pills for the cyst, you can continue the same and expect the period (once again) after stopping that medicine. To be 100 % sure about pregnancy, please do a urine pregnancy test three weeks after the intake of I-pill. If you are taking oral contraceptive pills for cyst, the pregnancy test is not needed as pregnancy is highly unlikely in that case.
I hope this helps.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor,
I am taking tablet Medroxyprogesterone acetate, M2 Tone syrup, and Ogem syrup.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
If bleeding is like your period, you can stop Medroxyprogesterone Acetate (Progestin) and take it next cycle. If not, finish the course of tablets and expect the period within 7 to 10 days of the last tablet. Other syrups you can continue.
I hope this has helped.
