Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 29-year-old female with PCOS. My period cycle is 34 days which is rarely irregular once or twice a year. I have been tracking my ovulation days on the Flo app. I did not get my period for the last three weeks. So, I did a home pregnancy test and saw a faint line. The doctor has prescribed me the tablet Duphaston for five days, but I have no periods and am on the 69th day of my cycle. I had brown discharge for about five days but did not have any discharge after that. I also have back pain. What should I do? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I suggest you the following instructions:

1. Take a serum beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) to know your pregnancy status.

2. If beta hCG is negative, I suggest you take combined oral contraceptive pills for three months to regulate your cycle and support your bleeding pattern.

3. If beta hCG is positive, repeat it after 48 hours to check for the status of the pregnancy and a transvaginal scan should be done to confirm the pregnancy.

I also suggest you the following instructions:

1. Exercise regularly to maintain ideal body weight.

2. Eat a healthy balanced diet.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
