Do I have genital warts or skin tags?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Is there any possibility of genital warts, penile papules, or skin tags?

Please check.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You can do the following:

  1. Apply Fucidin (Fusidic acid) cream twice daily for ten days on the popped or pricked lesion.
  2. Avoid scratching and rubbing of lesions.
  3. Avoid popping or pricking.
  4. Clean the genital area with Cetaphil cleanser (glycerin, niacinamide (Vitamin B3), and panthenol (Vitamin B5)) or no-soap cleanser or Episoft (cleansing lotion) cleanser daily.
  5. Maintain proper genital hygiene.

These are benign, harmless pearly penile papules, which occur in 50 percent of male patients. No treatment is needed. If you desire therapy, surgical excision, CO2 laser ablation, electrofulguration or cautery can be tried.

I hope it helps.

Thank you.
