How to manage piles?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I saw today something is coming out of my anus, and I am sending pictures. Is it serious and dangerous? Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

From the image sent (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity), it looks like piles (hemorrhoids). As it is seen coming out while straining, it should be piles. If it is coming out while passing stool and you are pushing inside, then it comes under grade 3 hemorrhoids. I hope you might be having constipation. Try to pass stool without straining. As straining causes piles, avoid taking non-vegetarian foods. Avoid straining. Take plenty of oral fluids, around 1.05 gallons in a day. Take a high-fiber diet. Do a sitz bath (pour hot, lukewarm water into a tub and sit for 15 minutes) to relieve pain if you have any pain. Make a habit of emptying the bowel daily. Also, start taking these medications: syrup Lactihep (Lactitol and Benzoic acid) 20 ml at night and tablet Osil (Calcium Dobesilate) twice daily for 20 days. Avoid straining while passing stool. If you have any queries, kindly follow up. Take care.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
