Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I recently recovered from pneumonia, and I am worried about the possibility of it coming back. What steps can I take to prevent a recurrence, especially during flu season or in environments where respiratory infections are common? Are there any long-term effects I should be aware of, and how can I strengthen my lungs and immune system to reduce the risk of future infections? Additionally, what lifestyle changes, vaccinations, or preventive measures would you recommend to keep my respiratory health in check?
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Usually, pneumonia does not repeatedly infect, but if your immunity is weak, then you can be affected again. So, build up your immunity by eating more natural foods like fruits and vegetables. Drink warm water in the early morning. Eat a healthy diet with less fast food and sugars. You can have the flu vaccine before winter to avoid catching the flu repeatedly. It is quite helpful.
Vitamin supplements, especially zinc and vitamin C, are helpful to build immunity. Quit smoking if you do. If you are prone to allergies, you can take a course of Montelukast sodium. It is good for preventing flu and allergy attacks. The best thing is to have a healthy diet and not worry much. Exercise and deep breathing help to build natural immunity.
I hope this information helps you.
Revert in case of queries.
Regards.
