Can pregnancy signs start within four days of protected sex?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had sex with my girlfriend four days back. We had protective intercourse using condom. Since it was her first experience, she has a feeling of getting pregnant. Is she pregnant or normal?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There will be a nil chance of pregnancy if you have used the condom correctly. The pregnancy symptoms do not occur so early, like after four days. So this is not because of pregnancy. If your girlfriend feels that the condom was not used properly, then she can take an emergency pill called I-pill within 72 hours of sex.
