Patient's Query
Hi,
I had protected sex with my fiance last week (almost two days after my periods). There was a break in the condom, and hence I took an I-pill within a few hours. He had pulled out before ejaculation. But today, I found that there was some spotting on my innerwear. Does that mean I am pregnant? Please help. I am under stress.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
It is unlikely for you to be pregnant as you were not in the fertile period.
The spotting in your innerwear can be due to hormonal change produced due to the I-pill.
Do not stress. Everything is going to be fine.
Thank you.

Patient's Query
Thanks, doctor,
To be sure, do I need to get a serum beta hCG done?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
In your case, taking a serum beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) test is unnecessary.
If you are too worried, there is nothing wrong with doing a serum beta hCG just to be sure.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello,
Today I have started bleeding like normal periods though it has been only 10 days since my last period. The period blood mainly contains clots. Does that mean a new cycle has started? And I am not pregnant?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Yes, it is not pregnancy.
The hormonal load induced by the I-pill has given this withdrawal bleeding.
No need to worry at all.
Thanks.
