Is the inability to fully void urine due to prostatitis?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 40-year-old male. My height is 5 feet 11 inches, and my weight is 220 lbs (pounds). I have a urinary problem that started two to three years ago and has become more noticeable over the last one to two years. I have to press behind the testes to empty the urinary tract manually. Also, warm showers stimulate urination, even though I have just voided. I had some success with OTC (over-the-counter) prostrate medications, but the issue was never resolved entirely. Also, I have had hemorrhoids since I was a teenager. They have not caused any discomfort like pain or bleeding; however, they are noticeable when I touch the area. Recently I had two blood tests. One from a naturopath and the other from a GP for my urinary complaint. Both the tests do not show any problems and also rule out cancer. The naturopath recommended taking supplements like vitamin D3 and fish oil, whereas the GP recommended a rectal ultrasound.

Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for consulting us. You have chronic prostatitis, an inflammation of the prostate gland. I suggest you take capsule Tamsulosin 0.4 mg (Tamsulosin Hydrochloride) one capsule before bed for a month, and tablet Ciprofloxacin 500 mg (Ciprofloxacin 212.6 mg, and Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride 287.5 mg) twice daily for four weeks. I also suggest you get a semen culture done and get back with the report as follow-up is recommended to proceed with further investigations and treatment.

I hope this helps.

Do let me know in case of further queries.

Kind regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your response.

Do I need to provide the semen culture results before I begin the treatment regimen? Also, do I need to make any changes in diet or take supplements to aid in the treatment process?

Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, you have to first share the test reports before starting the treatment. It is not necessary to make dietary changes for this condition; however, a healthy diet and weight loss will help improve the condition. I suggest you take Prostrafree Capsules (Saw Palmetto, Stinging Nettle, Boswellin, Pumpkin Extract, Pygeum Extract, Lycopene, Green Tea Extract, and Vitamin D3) for three months. It is a herbal formulation and has long-term benefits.

I hope this helps.

Do revert in case of further doubts.

Thank you.
