Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 26-year-old female. I want to know the fundamental role of proteins in the human body. How do they contribute to the maintenance of overall health and well-being? Please tell the primary sources of dietary proteins. How can individuals calculate their daily protein requirements? How does protein intake help in weight management?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query.
The roles of proteins in the body system are as follows,
1. Maintain body muscle mass.
2. Helps in skin growth.
3. Promotes body immunity and hemostasis.
The primary sources of dietary proteins are meat, beans, soybeans, legumes, eggs, and fish. The difference between proteins from animal and plant sources is that animal proteins contain all essential amino acids that are arranged in chains while plant proteins contain only a few amino acids and are scattered in form. Protein intake helps to build weight by the process of anabolism via a chain of collection of amino acids
I hope this helps.
Thanks and regards.
