Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have developed psoriasis in the scalp and ear region with flaky scalp and dryness along with itching in the scalp. I am also having premature greying of hair. When the flakes are removed by itching or combing, the region becomes bloody, and watery liquid is secreted.

Kindly advise.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You have scalp psoriasis. This condition needs long-term maintenance therapy to control the flare-up. You can start on 0.05 % Clobetasol propionate and 6% Salicylic acid lotion, a combination to be applied over a wet scalp and to be left for 15 minutes, followed by shampoo. This is to be repeated at least twice a week depending upon the severity. You can contact me for any other queries.

I hope this information was useful.

Please give your feedback.
