Hi doctor,
My right side of the hair is not growing normally, but the left side is normal, and I have a dry and itchy scalp. Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. Please attach your clinical picture along with your query so that it is convenient for me to comment on your condition and prescribe you the appropriate medications. For an itchy scalp, use Ketoconazole shampoo. And wash your scalp every day with lukewarm water. However, I suggest some hair care tips here. Always use lukewarm water for washing hair. Never use hot water. Do not comb when hair is wet. Do not use a hair dryer; allow it to dry naturally after a bath. Avoid hot iron straighteners; it breaks the protein bond in hair, making hair brittle. Hair is made up of a protein called keratin. So it would help if you took more protein daily, like eggs, fish, curd, milk, lentils, and chicken. Do regular exercise for 40 minutes a day, six days a week, to keep the hormonal balance intact. Use a comb that has a wide space between each tooth, and the tip of the tooth should be blunt. Comb gently. Avoid smoking, Nicotine decreases blood supply to the hair roots, affecting hair growth. Avoid tight pony; it would cause traction on hair, eventually leading to hair fall from the frontal area. Instead, keep the hair loosely tied. I hope you find it helpful. Kind regards.
