Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I noticed blood in my stool, and also, there was pain when I passed stools. I feel like there was pus in that area; however, I drank plenty of water, but still, it did not reduce the pain. I had the same issue a few days ago, but it stopped later. But then, after a while, I had to pass the bowel immediately after having food, and this problem started. What to do?

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

Rectal bleeding should always be evaluated. As per your history, painful rectal bleeding can occur in anal fissures if you have a history of constipation or passing hard stools. So, I suggest you to follow the instructions mentioned below,

1. Drink plenty of water.

2. Avoid constipation.

3. Take a high-fiber diet and laxatives if you are not able to pass stools daily.

4. For pain at the anal site, you can have warm water sitz bath with a simple antiseptic solution.

5. Apply Lidocaine cream (local anesthetic gel) on the affected area before passing stools.

6. If your rectal bleeding persists and there is no improvement, we will need a detailed history of your condition.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them and take the medications with their consent.

I wish you good health.

Take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
