Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have red dots on my penis for more than six months. I had done all blood and urine tests, and everything came negative. Initially, I thought it was a urinary infection, so I consulted a urologist. He gave me a Raflu tablet, and after taking the medication for one week, it was resolved. But after a few days, it relapsed, and I consulted another doctor. This doctor suggested Fluconazole tablets, and there was no response. So again, I started taking Raflu tablets, and it is responding. I am attaching my medical reports and a clinical picture. What is your suggestion?

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed your query and attached images (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). However, I would like to know a few additional details. What are your symptoms? Is there any itching, discharge, or pain during sexual intercourse? Is it present continuously, or it disappears and returns spontaneously? It seems that you have been taking oral steroids. Was it prescribed for this problem, or do you use it for any other associated medical condition? Since all your investigations for sexually transmitted diseases are negative, it is unlikely that the cause is infectious. However, I suggest you stop all medication, maintain good hygiene for a couple of weeks, and use barrier protection with condoms during sexual contact.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

There is no itching, discharge, or pain during sexual intercourse. However, it reappears when I stop taking Raflu tablets. We are planning for kids, and I am worried about this condition. How long does it take to cure completely? Is it an STD? If it is balanitis or STD, is there any injection to cure it? How long does it take to completely cure without relapse?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Your condition seems more like balanitis only, though the reason is not apparent. I would suggest some topical anti-fungal cream instead of oral drugs. It is unlikely that this will interfere with your planning for children. You can consult your specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Can you please suggest a good antifungal cream? Is there any antibiotic injection to cure this?

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Karthik Rajan

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If you are already using multiple topical creams, then it would be advisable to stop them all. However, I cannot prescribe any medication online without a clinical examination. Therefore, I suggest you consult a specialist doctor and undergo a clinical examination for further treatment.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I consulted a specialist doctor, and he gave me allergy tablets (Alegra and Iverpred 8 mg).

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Karthik Rajan

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Kindly stop the steroids and continue your anti-allergic medication; such allergies are generally recurrent and can be controlled. If severe, then use anti-allergic medication with topical steroids.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
