In this procedure, the natural lens of your eye is removed and replaced with an artificial lens to enable you to see clearly. Various artificial lenses are available and some lenses give you the advantage of seeing both distant objects and intermediate, near objects. The only possible problem would be your retinal condition. How much vision you get depends on how healthy your retina is. However, this procedure is quite safe and it can be done electively, that is, as & when you wish. Also, it is usually done one eye after another with up to a week or so between.
