What is secondary infertility?
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
How do I know if I am infertile? And what is secondary infertility? I had my daughter 12 years ago, but since then, I have been struggling to conceive. Is that normal? Or is there anything wrong with me?
Please help me.
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
I am very sorry about your medical condition, and I am glad that you are paying attention to changes in your body system. But do not worry. I am here to take care of you. Regarding your symptoms, I believe you are struggling with infertility because if you are unable to conceive for more than one year, then you are infertile.
Secondary infertility is when a person has trouble getting pregnant or carrying a pregnancy to term after having had at least one successful pregnancy before. It can be caused by many factors, including hormone imbalance, infection, age-related decline, and uterine or fallopian tube disorder. So, something may be wrong with your system. Please do a hormone profile test, pelvic scan, TFT (thyroid function test), and hysterosalpingogram (HSG) test and reply to me with the result.
I suggest you take the tablet Letrozole 5 mg once daily for one month to see if you can conceive. You can take the medications after consulting a specialist doctor. Reply to me if you have more concerns or questions.
Feel free to follow up with any further questions or concerns.
Thank you.
