Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been in love with a guy for more than three years. He used to hug me and kiss me in public, but I did not appreciate it. Even though I felt like hugging him in public, I could not do it. My mind keeps thinking of the surrounding people. So because of this, we used to fight a lot for not meeting up to his expectations. How to overcome this?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. It is common to feel awkward in this situation in our culture, especially for girls. It would be best if you had talked about it with your partner. When you are in a relationship, both people must respect each other's choices and feelings. You can tell him that it is acceptable to do it occasionally as you do not like it. In a relationship, no one should force the other to do anything for the other. It should be free and enjoyable. You cannot change your mind. Just learn to accept it and enjoy it or tell him that you do not like it.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.
