Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My teeth have been worn out for the past four years. I have had many root canal treatments and extractions. The tooth present on the lower left side causes pain and sensitivity while drinking fresh or diluted orange juices and beer. I have sharp pain when I wake up, especially while eating or on air exposure. I think it requires root canal treatment. The pain subsides after a day. These symptoms have lasted for the past 1.5 years. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Provide a picture for diagnosis. Acidic fruit juices and cool drinks cause sensitivity in the teeth due to erosion. So limit the intake of acidic juices and beer.

Thank you doctor for the reply,

I have attached the picture.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Kindly send me a clear picture. From the images attached (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), you have poor oral hygiene with excess plaque deposition. Do you have bleeding after brushing?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

From the images attached (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), you have periodontitis with enamel erosion. It occurs due to long-term exposure to acidic drinks. In addition, bleeding occurs due to improper brushing habits. I suggest you to follow the below steps;

1. Use fluoridated mouthwash twice daily.

2. Brush your teeth twice daily.

Could you provide me with your past medical history?

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

I was diagnosed with hypertension. I have been drinking carbonated beverages for the past 15 years. I drink two cans daily, but I have decided to stop now.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

1. Use fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash. Fluoride will strengthen your teeth.

2. Consult a dentist for tooth bonding, veneer, or crown for the damaged teeth.

3. Avoid drinking carbonated drinks, beer, orange, and lime juice.

4. To prevent bad breath, drink plenty of water. Review after three days.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
