Which toothpaste is best suited for sensitive teeth?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I recently used an electric toothbrush, and I want to know if it is good to use daily. Which toothbrush and toothpaste are best suited for sensitive teeth? Please advise.

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Amir Shafi

Hello,

Welcome to iclinq.com.

If you have sensitivity while having something cold or hot, I advise you to use any sensitivity protection toothpaste available in the market. Take a small amount of the paste, rub it all over your teeth, leave it for five to seven minutes, then clean the teeth with your finger. You can do regular toothbrushing with normal toothpaste after a gap of 15 minutes.

If you have too much sensitivity, repeat the above procedure three times, decrease it to two times, and then once a day. Use a soft toothbrush for brushing, and do not apply too much pressure while brushing your teeth.

Hope this helps,

Thank you.
