Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My wife is 20 weeks pregnant. We have come to know that there is a subseptate uterus. What are the risks? What care should be taken?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. The subseptate uterus commonly occurs during the development of the baby. I saw the ultrasonography report you attached (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). Precaution on your part is following your gynecologist's advice. There are different complications like miscarriage, malpresentation, or preterm birth. There is a hysteroscopic surgery performed depending on the type of septate uterus. If your gynecologist advises for it, then you can think about it. Regular scans can be performed to monitor the development of the fetus. So I suggest talking to the gynecologist and doing follow-ups as per need is the best thing to do.

I hope this helps. Feel free to contact me for any further queries in the future.
