Can HIV or herpes be transmitted through a body massage?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 44-year-old male. Ten days ago, I received a body massage without clothes. The lady sat on my penis with a cloth and started rubbing over. There was no intercourse. I found it uncomfortable, so I refused her. This was for around six to ten seconds. But I am afraid of STDs. After a week, I started having loose motions and mouth sores.

It might be due to the food that I generally get. About my sore mouth, I am doubting. Please suggest what tests I should do and when. As I read on the internet, different STDs have different time frames.

Please guide me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Thanks for reaching out to icliniq. I am very sorry about your medical condition, and I am glad that you are paying attention to the changes in your body system. But do not worry. I am here to take care of you. Regarding your symptoms, I do not think you have any STD (sexually transmitted diseases) so long as there was no intercourse with the lady. So, there is no need to do any tests. I believe the sore mouth is possibly due to hot food or a viral infection.

I suggest you take the following. Take two tablets of Co-Amoxiclav (Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid) 625 mg by mouth two times a day for one week, two tablets of Metronidazole 500 mg by mouth three times a day for two weeks, and two tablets of vitamin C 1000 IU (international units) three times a day for two weeks. Reply to me if you have more concerns or questions by scheduling a direct appointment or following up via chat, phone, or video consultation.

Thanks for using iCliniq and have a nice day. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him/her, and take the medicines with their consent.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.
