How to diagnose an STI?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I think I may have an STI, the bottom part of my shaft along the urethra burns and the bottom part of the tip of my penis also hurts, and there is a white milky sticky substance like pus or discharge coming out. I am on antibiotics because of my corn removal surgery from my heel. So, do I have an STI or a UTI? Yes, I did have sex with multiple partners without a condom in the past month. I am very worried and very scared, can I fix this? Is it curable or am I doomed for life? Which antibiotic should I take?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
According to your history, if the white discharge is milky type or pus discharge, it is most likely an STI (sexually transmitted infection) caused by gonorrhea.
What about any other associated symptoms?
Do you experience -
-
Any burning micturition?
-
Urgency?
-
Frequency?
-
Any History of fever?
I will advise you to do these tests -
-
Urine complete examination.
-
Swab test of the discharge.
I suggest you take the following medication -
-
Tablet Azithromycin 500 mg, two times a day for 14 days.
-
Tablet Doxycycline 100 mg, two times a day for 14 days.
-
Cran max sachet (UTI (urinary tract infections) sachet), two times a day for 14 days.
I hope that if you take these medications your problem will resolve, and we will see after two weeks. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him/her, and take the medicines with their consent.
If you have any further queries, kindly do not hesitate to ask me.
I hope this helps.
Take care.
Regards.
