Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Recently during vacation, I suffered from a sinus infection with a painful sore throat, mostly left side. I had two flights and experienced horrible pain in my left ear during the descent. The left ear felt blocked or muffled throughout the week of vacation. I started Amoxicillin. Return flights were not too bad. However, it is ten days now, and the left ear is still plugged. No drainage or pain, but sensitive to loud noises. Some hearing difficulty. Yawning, swallowing, or plugging my nose have all been ineffective. I have taken Sudafed, nasal sprays, and earwax drops. I am starting to worry. What should I do? Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You have to use nasal decongestant drops, not sprays. Lie down on your back, put your head lower than your body position, put one drop of the decongestant in each nostril, and stay on your back for two minutes. Use the drops twice daily for five days, then tell me the result. You may need further investigation according to your response to the treatment. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
