Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been dealing with an uneven bite since my last invisalign treatment 4 to 5 years ago. My bite feels slanted and the right side of my teeth do not touch initially when biting down. Overall, my teeth look fine other than the slant in my bite. I was wondering how long would treatment take and how much would treatment cost.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. I appreciate and thank you for nice pictures (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Yes, the bite is (open) irregular, uneven and some of the teeth are still rotated or tilted. To conclude the result is not as expected.

Usually, if at the end of treatment, if the desired outcome is not achieved, further extension is implemented immediately (with the financial aspect as agreed upon at the time of consultation). However, if it has been pretty long you have seen your doctor (and you have accepted the result), he may charge you right from the square one.

You said your right face seems swollen (picture not included), which is, in most such cases, a tender, and a full, thick muscle which gets spasmodic due to improper bite. Muscle relaxants may help for time being, but definite treatment is mandatory to address and resolve this aspect permanently.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
