Is a breast size of 30 normal for an 18-year-old girl?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am an 18-year-old girl weighing 42 kg. My breast size is 30. Is it normal for my age? Will it be increased later according to my age, or can I get the doctor's advice from now onwards?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. You are a teenager, and your hormonal system is still developing. You have a low BMI. Still, there is some development of the female genital tract. Your normal regular cycle secretes estrogen that causes breast development.

Similarly, oral contraceptive pills also have estrogen that causes breast development. Otherwise, naturally, pregnancy breastfeeding will increase growth. So gradually, breast size increases with different physical phases and stages of life and with different medications like contraceptives. Try to have it naturally, as excessive estrogen intake has the risk of breast and endometrial cancer.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
