How to remove yellowish-brown stains from crooked teeth?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have my mother's wedding this month and would like a normal smile. Unfortunately, I have quite a range of different colored teeth. My canine teeth are very yellow, and my bottom teeth are all partly stained. My two front teeth are white, but I have some brown stains on them both.

I drink a lot of tea, though, so I assume this is the reason why my teeth are like this. I also have crooked teeth at the bottom, making removing the stains hard.

What would you suggest I do to have my teeth the same color and remove the brown lines?

I do not necessarily want them whitened, just the same shade as each other. It makes me extremely self-conscious, so I would like them to at least look somewhat appealing. I am 18 years old and still in school.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

The probable cause of the condition is staining, which has led to discoloration of the teeth. Staining and discoloration are common problems.

The probable diagnosis is teeth discoloration.

The recommended treatment plan includes teeth whitening to help restore the natural color of the teeth. In modern dentistry, there are several options available for teeth whitening. It is best to see your dentist for fast results and to make your smile brighter.

For prevention, it is essential to brush twice a day, floss at least once a day, and maintain proper oral hygiene. Additionally, avoid using chlorhexidine mouthwash if you are already using it, as it can cause stains over time.

Thank you and take care.
