Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My son is 5 years old, weight 43 lbs. He has got a stye kind of boil in his right upper and lower eyelid. Yesterday afternoon, I noticed it in the upper eyelid. I applied the paste of white clay stick and applied oil for his hair to reduce his body temperature. But now, there is another boil coming up in the same eye in the lower lid. It is a bit painful to touch. No fever. He is active as always. I gave a warm application for the eye. What to do now? Can you advise some medicine like eye drop? How to avoid it further?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Yes, there is inflammation over eyelids (Stye) (attachment removed to protect patient identity). You can use Toba eye drop 3 to 4 times a day for five days. He can take a plain painkiller like Crocin (Paracetamol) 1.5 teaspoon thrice a day. Do not apply anything except eye drop. You can use lukewarm water cloth to cover over the eyelid. Keep for 10 to 15 minutes. It will help reduce swelling faster. Do it only if he is comfortable.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
