I have been diagnosed as prediabetic, and I am trying to be more mindful of my sugar intake. I have heard conflicting information about sugar substitutes like Aspartame, Stevia, and Neotame. Are these alternatives safe for me to use, especially considering my prediabetic condition? I am also curious about their effectiveness in satisfying cravings and whether they have any impact on blood sugar levels. Additionally, how do these substitutes compare in terms of taste and any potential side effects I should be aware of? I want to make informed choices about managing my sugar intake while still enjoying some sweetness in my diet.

These sugar substitutes can vary in taste than normal sugar, they produce more sweetness when compared to table sugar. They can be used in moderation, as they are less caloric. Directly they would not increase sugar levels, but they might increase your appetite, craving for more carbs. Compared to Aspartame and Neotame, Stevia is good. Being a prediabetic does not mean you need to completely avoid table sugar. You need to reduce carb intake, by satisfying your hunger with adequate proteins. Plan for a diet plan and do regular exercise.
