Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I just had undergone spine surgery and was intubated. I had a cold two weeks ago and had a weird feeling between my throat and nasal passages, as if the mucus was just there. My uvula was stuck and swollen when they intubated me for surgery. I am guessing the uvula stretched and started hanging out on my tongue. I am immobilized because of surgery but need to know what to do with my uvula. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I suggest you use anti-edematous drugs like Reparil (Diethyline salicylate) tablets thrice daily plus local oral anti-inflammatory sprays, like Orex spray or Omit-C spray. It would be helpful if you send me a photo of your pharynx from inside. You can also send the names of the medications you are using now after the surgery.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

At present, I am taking the following medications: 1. Oxycodone 10 mg. 2. Cephalexin 500 mg 3. Methylprednisolone 4 mg. 4. I do not have but need to get Gabapentin. I am not able to attach the pictures.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Are you taking any other medications apart from this?

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
