Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a swollen tongue with teeth marks, tiny blood blisters on my inner cheeks with canker sores, and lumps on my uvula for a month. My blood reports are normal. No one in my home is sick. I do not have any cold symptoms or sore throat. I have pain only from the lesions. I have some blood results that seem to be derranged with proteinuria and I have eGFR of 59. They seem to be kidney-related.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As per the concern, you have tiny papillomatous lesions over the uvula. You do not need to worry as your reports are normal. One of the common reasons for having multiple lesions on the oral cavity is nutrition deficiency. I advise you take tablet Vitamin complex one tablet in the morning for one month. You can do gargling with Betadine 1%. Mix 10 ml with 10 ml warm water for seven days.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Does Betadine is the same as Povidone-iodine? What kind of vitamin complex to be taken? My doctor referred me to an oncologist to evaluate for AL amyloidosis. I have a history of chronic pain. Now I have sudden kidney issues and mouth issues particularly with teeth marks on my tongue. The sores seem to be spreading and I have tons of it behind my bottom teeth. I got it tonight. Originally, it happened three months back. It went away after two weeks and it got cleared slightly and now it is back.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, Povidone-iodine is the same as Betadine. You can visit an oncologist and it is always good to be cautious. You can take vitamin complex with B1-B12 with zinc and Vitamin A, C, D, and E. I want to know about your kidney problems. If you have the reports, kindly send them.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have a significant decline in my eGFR. I have attached my values. I am waiting for the results of the 24-hour urine test. My mother has stage 3A CKD. I have attached my summary of my health problems. My recent abdominal CT was normal.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As I have gone through your past medical condition, I have some questions to ask you. Please mention whether you are taking medications for having low eGFR (estimated glomerular filtration rate). As per your report, it decreases the functions of your kidney. Please mention whether you drink alcohol and have any smoking habits. Please mention the water taken by you every day in the past. Please mention whether you had any different diseases in the past. You need to be cautious regarding your diet and nutrition.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I am not taking any medication and I am unable to see a nephrologist till next month. I have immune-related renal insufficiency like my mom. I do not have diabetes and high blood pressure. Occasionally I drink two glasses of wine per week. I do not smoke. I do not drink a lot of water but now I drink tons of water. I have Ehlers Danlos syndrome type 3 and I was diagnosed with lupus before 11 years. I have mild POTS and severe orthostatic hypotension. So I take a lot of sodium to stabilize my blood pressure when it drops.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As your kidney function is decreasing, taking too much water and sodium is not good for the kidney. Try to meet your nephrologist soon. As you have EDS (Ehlers-Danlos syndrome), try to avoid doing strenuous work and avoid having an injury. You can do an echocardiogram by consulting a cardiologist. For oral lesions, have gargles and start taking vitamins.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I thank you for helping me a lot.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It's my pleasure. You are welcome.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
