Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 27 years old. My problem is related to the spine. I gave birth to my daughter four months ago, and during vaginal delivery, my tailbone was a little bit dislocated to the right. I was in so much pain that I could not sit properly for two months. Other than tailbone pain, I started feeling pain in my whole spine, especially the middle and lower back. It is so painful for me to hold my baby for more than 10 minutes. I am feeling morning stiffness in my mid back to lower back. Also, I feel some kind of joint pain in my body. I went to a chiropractor for one month. I tried physiotherapy for two weeks as well. I am tired all the time. I went to the spine specialist doctor yesterday. He asked me to do some blood tests and an MRI of the spine. I got ASO above the range, which is 452. MRI is not done yet. I am taking vitamin D supplements and multivitamins. What do you understand about this situation, and what treatment do you suggest for that?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Yes, tailbone pain may be due to injury during delivery of baby or trauma during procedure. You may suffer pain during sitting or defecation, or intercourse. Use a doughnut shape pillow, and sit in a leaning forward position. Also, check for lumbar spondylosis, which may cause stiffness of the spine or muscle spasm by MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) or X-ray of the joint. Physical therapy and warm and cold compression may be useful. If symptoms are not improved, you may need surgery. Please consult your doctor; he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care.
