How can I manage tiny red, dry bumps on my chin?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Recently, I have been having issues with my smile lines and chin. I noticed tiny red, dry bumps. Thereafter, I started tanning. It is not acne, just dry patches.

I am not sure how to get rid of them. It has been about a month since I started tanning, and I have been following a proper skincare routine and moisturizing, but nothing seems to help.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Sun exposure can make your skin sensitive and cause an allergic reaction called photosensitivity, which leads to red bumps. Sunscreen can help reduce these bumps, especially if you also take Levocetirizine 10 milligrams twice a day. The condition can worsen due to deficiencies in vitamins and minerals.

To improve this, follow these steps:

  1. Eat a balanced diet with green leafy vegetables and fruits like apples, and stay hydrated by drinking water and juices.
  2. For inflammation, take 500 milligrams of paracetamol twice a day. Levocetirizine and Paracetamol should be taken for five days as part of a treatment plan.
  3. Apply sunscreen for one to three months and take a vitamin tablet like B complex once a day.

I hope you are satisfied with my answer.

Thank you.
