Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My left testicle is horizontal, and my right one is verticle. Sometimes my left testicle also gets verticle like the other but again goes back to horizontal. Is this an issue that I need to worry about? I have no pain, but my testicles move a lot, so I am worried. My left testicle also hangs lower than my right one. Sometimes it is upside down or normal, but I have no pain at all and I have no medical condition. Please advise.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Gentle movement in size and position of testes is normal and does not require any treatment. It would be best to get scrotal sonography done to confirm testicular location and size problems. If the scrotal scan is normal, then no need to worry, and treatment will not be needed.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Is having a horizontal testicle common in males? Please advise.

Answered by Dr. Vaibhav Vishal

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

During scrotal movement, sometimes testes may come in the partial horizontal position, but it will change their position in some time. It is not the position that dictates the need for treatment. It is the blood supply and testes viability. As suggested, sonography can detect any abnormalities. If blood supply and testes viability are normal, no treatment is needed. Once a physical examination by a urologist is also required to be seen for any abnormalities.

Thank you.
