Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My foreskin is very tight to pull back. I can pull it from top to under the glan, but not more than that, so the doctor suggested using Lignocaine gel. I have LOX 2 percent jelly. Kindly guide me on how to use it, when to use it, morning or night. How frequently should I apply? Is there any problem if glan came in contact with the gel?
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
Purpose of LOX (Lidocaine hydrochloride) 2 percent jelly in phimosis.
LOX jelly does not treat phimosis directly, but it helps by numbing the area slightly so that gentle stretching is more comfortable and less painful.
How to use it:
1. Clean the area: Gently wash the penis with warm water. Pat dry.
2. Apply a small amount of LOX 2 percent jelly: Take a pea-sized amount and apply it on the tight part of the foreskin, and a little on the glans if you can expose it partially.
3. Wait five to 10 minutes: Allow the jelly to start numbing the area before stretching.
4. Gentle stretching: Slowly and gently try to retract the foreskin just until you feel mild tension, not pain. Hold the position for 30 to 60 seconds, then relax. Repeat two to three times during the session.
When and how often: Two times per day (morning and night) is ideal.
Timing: Preferably after a warm bath or shower, as warm water softens the skin and improves elasticity.
Duration: Continue daily for four to six weeks to assess improvement. Full retraction may take time, so be patient.
Yes, it is generally safe if LOX jelly touches the glans. The glans may feel a little numb afterwards, but this is temporary. Avoid overusing the gel or inserting it deep inside.
I hope this information is helpful to you.
Thanks.

Hi doctor,
Thanks for the reply.
There is no need for the penis to be in an erect state right.
Thanks.
