Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am feeling that something is there in my left side abdomen, until the left side back. It feels like heaviness or uneasiness. This problem is now for two years. There is no pain, but there is discomfort. It goes sometimes completely when I am at home, but arises more when I come to my college hostel, which is 600 km from home. I had four ultrasounds in betwee,n but nothing came up on them. I also have dry piles (blood comes with the stool) sometimes. After that, too, in the ultrasoun,d there is nothing. Also, there is a blood test in which SGPT is 44. The doctor says it is because of the very spicy foods that I take. So, I stopped for one month and my stool is fine.
What is this basically?
I do not have any physical problem, but always thinking about this issue. The doctor says it is only gas. My gas release is not good. Also, I keep awake till 5 AM sometimes. When I think about it, it feels worse.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
It could be gastric irritation, as you say, it feels worse after eating. Since your ultrasonography is normal, and you do not have any other symptoms, it could be gastric discomfort. You could get an upper GI endoscopy done to see if all is normal. Also, get a Barium enema X-ray of the abdomen. However, if the heaviness is on the lower left abdomen, it could be diverticulosis, as it is relieved after defecation. Please get the tests done and let me know the results. For now, no treatment as such is needed. We need to identify what is causing this.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
