Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 25-year-old male and I have been diagnosed with ulnar nerve subluxation on the left elbow due to poor form during weight lifting by my local orthopedic doctor. Symptoms are very mild, there are no tingling, numbness, or stinging sensations on my ring or little fingers. The only thing I am experiencing is when I bend or flex my elbows past 90 degrees, I can feel a very minor pop on the elbows, without any pain. The only time when it becomes slightly painful is when the nerve is irritated through repeated bending throughout the day when I have to work out with weights or do certain tasks that require me to bend past 90 degrees, though I am trying to be mindful and not go past 90 degrees whenever possible. Apart from surgery, which was also not recommended by my orthopedic doctor, what other solutions or things I can do to fix this issue? Since what I am experiencing is fairly mild, would stopping weight training for my left arm for some periods of time be enough to let the nerve heal and have everything back to normal? My doctor only told me not to do anything past 90 degrees without any other advice.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thanks for the query. You have nicely mentioned your details. I think in your case nothing is required. Surgery is done in severely symptomatic cases where it is subluxated multiple times in a day and affects a person in day-to-day activities. In your case, it is very mild. The only thing you can do is avoid activities that increase the chance of subluxation. otherwise, there is nothing else you can do.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the quick response. Should I go for physical therapy?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can but I do not think you will appreciate any improvement because symptoms are very mild.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
