Is it safe to engage in unprotected sexual activity on my fourth day of menstruation?

Please help

Answered by Dr. Balakrishnan R

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Sexual activity is fine on the fourth day of menstruation. Ovulation often happens between the 12th and 16th day of menstruation. Do not have sexual activity for three days before and following ovulation. To find out when you ovulated, your period's length determines the day of ovulation. Ovulation for a woman with a 28-day cycle occurs on day 14, or 14 days before menstruation. Ovulation occurs on day 16th if your cycle is usually 30 days long. Day 1 of a cycle is the first day of bleeding; however, if your cycle is irregular, the computation of ovulation lasts for the period of the longest cycle minus 8 and longest cycle minus 11. Your longest period, for instance, is 34 days, while your shortest cycle is 27 days.34-8= 26, 27-11 = 16, So your ovulation will occur between 16 and 26.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
