Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Last week, one night, I had unprotected sex twice with my fiance. The next night, I took Escapelle on a full stomach. After two days, I experienced cramps and I noticed a white discharge with a mild scent. This is carried on until today. After each meal, I felt extremely nauseous, emotional and tired. Now, I have started spotting and I am feeling extremely nauseous followed by cramps. Is it possible that I could be pregnant even though I took the pill? This is the fifth time I am using Escapelle within seven months.
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
The morning after pills contain a large dose of Progesterone and they can cause irregularity or delay of periods. You have been taking it too frequently and it is not advisable. You should use condoms as they not only protect against pregnancy but also prevent sexually transmitted diseases. The chances of getting pregnant are less in your case but still, you should go for a pregnancy test after two weeks.
Take care.
