Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My periods were from 13 to 17th of this month. I had sex on 20th night with a condom but there was a time when it went inside me without a condom once for a second. I am wondering if that will result into pregnancy and if I should have a contraceptive pill. Also I was wondering if it was the safe period. Could you tell me if sex without condom immediately after end of periods is likely to result into pregnancy? I had taken a contraceptive pill last month so my period cycle had changed as per last month but it was a normal 28 to 30 days cycle.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The days of your menstrual cycle start counting at day one of menstruation. So, you were on day 8 that night. Fertile days are considered from 11 to 16th in a regular menstrual cycle (this means you always have your period every 28 to 32 days). You have a very low probability of being pregnant, but not a zero probability.

My suggestion at this point is to wait for day 5 to 7 from the day you had your encounter to take a urine pregnancy test since right know it is not useful taking any medication such as the day after pill and doing a pregnancy test before day seven can be falsely negative.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
