Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am experiencing light bleeding with a stringy blood mucus discharge on my 21st day of the menstrual cycle for the past four days. Sometimes the bleeding stops and then restarts. The amount varies, sometimes decreasing and other times increasing. A week before this bleeding started, I took the morning-after pill and had protected sex using a condom. Despite the protection, I am worried about pregnancy. I have taken two pregnancy tests, both on the second day of the light bleeding, and both came out negative. My last period was on the start of this month, and this bleeding occurred after 21 days of my previous period. Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and I am here to assist you.
Based on your symptoms, it seems you may have developed a vaginal infection that is occurring alongside your menstrual cycle. I suggest you undergo a high vaginal and endocervical swab test and provide me with the results.
I would also suggest you follow this treatment plan:
If your symptoms persist, please schedule another appointment for follow-up via chat, phone, or video consultation.
Thank you.
Thank you.
