Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have two kinds of vaginal discharges. One is pale white with a thick consistency and an unpleasant pus-like odor. I assume that the other one is the post-intercourse discharge. Is it normal to have two kinds of discharges? Do I have any problem?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

It is possible that you can have two kinds of discharges. Inside the vagina, normal vaginal flora maintains the pH and if a specific proportion of this flora gets imbalanced then it can get infected easily by infectious organisms. The vaginal discharge could be due to infection and after intercourse, you can have a mixed discharge of infection, local vaginal exudate, secretions of semen, etc. If you have high vaginal discharge, I suggest you follow a few instructions mentioned below.

  1. Use a sitz bath for irritation.
  2. Maintain strict hygiene.
  3. Use condoms to prevent transmission of infection.
  4. Wear soft comfortable undergarments.
  5. After collection of swabs have tablet Doxycycline 100 mg once in 12 hours and tablet Metronidazole once in eight hours for seven to 14 days.
  6. You can collect your swab report and discuss it here.
  7. Have a strict check and treatment if you have any health issues.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take medications with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
